Angel has an incredible face to work with; her porcelain skin and ethereal features really do make her, well… angelic. It’s no wonder that I’ve used Angel as a model for various projects and have been lucky to collaborate with her on photoshoots where she has done hair. Did I mention that she’s a hair stylist?! Anyways, here is a little look I quickly put together at work one quiet afternoon. Don’t be surprised if you see her gorgeous face in future tutorials that I do. Can you blame me? She’s a makeup artists dream.

To some, this eye makeup look may seem like it’s hard to achieve but in actuality it took about five minutes to do. One primer, three eyeshadows and the power of blending is all you need.

A good ‘go-to’ technique when I’ve decided to hit the snooze button one too many times on a work day, that can be used with any colour palette. What are some of your favourite makeup quickies?
Black is always a familiar go-to for any woman. The impact of a little black dress or a touch of black liner on the eyes can instantly glam us up with ease. A smokey eye is the epitome of sexy in the world of makeup. For the fall season, Annabelle Cosmetics has launched a collection dedicated to some gorgeous blackened makeup goodies that are sure to win anyone over. To boot, all of it is extremely affordable and easy to use.
The ‘Black Box’ collection is:
Glitterama in Blast Off – a gel-liquid eyeliner infused with black and silver glitter.
Liquid Liner in Black Spark – a classic black liquid liner with a modern metallic twist.
Smoothliner in Metal Daze – an intense black pencil topped off with shimmering specks.
Smoothie Eyeshadow Pencil in Licoriche – a rich creamy jumbo eyeliner that wears for up to 9 hours.
As you saw in my last blog post, there was a Davines Woman competition/photoshoot that some of my colleagues submitted to in June. Yesterday was the big show for the Canadian top ten finalists and I was hard at work backstage lending my makeup prowess for the pre-show extravaganza. Working with the creative genius’ Melanie Bourne and Paul Taylor, their vision was edgy, sexy and oozing glamour. Avant-garde hair mixed with an old Hollywood femininity synergized with Dior and McQueen style makeup and the AMAZING styling talents of Rebecca Mezger. The models were just stunning and the team pulled together a fantastic, high-energy show that was a definite crowd-pleaser.
Naturally I was snapping shots backstage in my usual paparazzi mode, so here are a few of my favourites.

The hair. The clothes. The makeup. *sigh*

Golly! It’s been way too long between blog posts. My deepest apologies to all my subscribers and readers. This month has been full of transition in my life. I’ve been working a lot and organizing/preparing my home for the arrival of a new roommate. I will definitely be back on track posting more frequently now.
